"Now is perfect!!"
    And I was right.
The sun lingered on top of the mountain behide my home.
The wind was blowing so heavenly that the birds and such were only but whispers in the small sections of my backyard.
The newly finished stone layout in my backyard held so much within my eyes.
A tree stood tall close to my right and at the center of the stone layout was a small dried up firepit lazily drifting the smell of burning wood to my nose.
The special place was only mine.

I layed my dolphin towel across a small patch of the stone layout and got out my 'Simple Wicca' book from my bookbag.
Smiling with joy, I flipped through the pages to my marked place.
It was about the Goddess Bast.
Laying down on the towel, I whispered some of the words from the book, enjoying the breeze of the swaying wind currents.
It was not hot outside, and since this was my first time reading OUTLOUD a spell, I was a little frightened.
Though, throughout my ritual, I thought of Bast and My Goddess.
Laughing, I looked around my sacred space and saw the Spirit with the Earth. The blooming roses beside me and the burning vanilla candle across from me gave my space a feel of spring, even if the time is summer.
I glanced at my watch and quickly began to close my circle and gather up my things.
Walking back up my backdoor steps, I glance once more around my space.
The bushes and flowers were just blooming in a small patch of flowerbed close to the backdoor. Life lived on in this little land and my ritual gave it new meaning and happyness in my eyes.
"May the Goddess Watch over this land." I whispered with the wind, letting it take my message to the Goddess up above.

Entry for "Sacred Space" Contest

Why was this an example of your Sacred Space? I explained my sacred space to be in my backyard, which always seems spring though it is summer or fall. With trees and bushes of many colors, I love this space.
